June 21-22, 2017, Deputy Director for Research A.V. Konstantinov took part in the International Scientific and Technical Conference "Biotechnology, Genetics, Selection in Forestry and Agriculture, Monitoring of Ecosystems". - The event was held in Voronezh on the basis of FSEIHE "Voronezh State Forestry University".

The conference is timed to the Year of Ecology in Russia.

A.V. Konstantinov has made a welcoming speech at the opening of the conference.

The meeting of the SBEA Working Group "Forest Network of the Barents Region" was held on June 2, 2017 in Pushkino, Moscow Region, with the support of the Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleskhoz), on the basis of the Federal Autonomous Institution OF Additional Professional Education "All-Russian Institute for Advanced Training of Leaders and Forestry Specialists".

The events of the international forum and exhibition "Weather • Climate • Water / Remote Sensing of the Earth / Green Economy" were held on June 14-15, 2017 in St. Petersburg, in the  congress and exhibition complex "Expoforum".

A meeting, devoted to the problems of research development in the field of monitoring the state of urban plantations in the context of climate change, was held within the All-Russian Climate Week in  SPbFRI.

The problem of climate change, despite its global level, has clearly expressed regional aspects that must be taken into account when developing systems of measures in various sectors of the economy.

The journal Proceedings of the St. Petersburg Forestry Research Institute has been published since 1929 and presents an independent peer-reviewed scientific publication, which is intended for presentation of the original research results in the field of forestry, biological and economic sciences by researchers and professionals.

Work team of  SPbFRI took part in the II International Scientific and Technical Conference "Forests of Russia: Politics, Industry, Science, Education ", held from May 24 to May 26, 2017 at the St. Petersburg S.M. Kirov Forestry University.

A report on the assessment of the validity of different forest management and use strategies from a climate point of view was presented at the thematic section "The Impact of Climate Change and Other Stress Factors on Forest Ecosystems".

On May 24, 2017, an extra-curricular event "Forest and Climate of the Future" was held as part of the activities of the All-Russian Week of Climate for Schoolchildren of the 4th form of SBEI  "Secondary School No. 531 of the Krasnogvardeisky District of St. Petersburg".

Employees of  SPbFRI  took part in the central event of the action "All-Russian Forest Planting Day", which took place on May 20, 2017 in the Sosnovsky District Forestry of the Priozersky Forestry, the Leningrad Region. Efforts of employees of federal and regional government bodies, forestry workers, public, scientific and forestry organizations, residents of the Leningrad region resulted in planting about 20.0 thousand pine seedlings in the area of 9 hectares.

The All-Russian Climate Week is held for the first time in 2017 as a part of the Year of Ecology in the Russian Federation, in accordance with the decision of the interagency working group under the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation on issues related to climate change and sustainable development.

Deputy director for academic work of the  SPbFRI A.V. Konstantinov as a member of the interdepartmental delegation of the Russian Federation took part in the 46th session of the subsidiary bodies of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which was held from 8 to 18 May 2017 in Bonn (Germany).
