Scientific and practical conference “FSFI “Wood Protection” – guarding the health of the forests for 75 years”

Federal State-Funded Institution “Russian Centre of Wood Protection” has completed 75 years. Jubilee events were held on the 28th of November, 2013 in Pushkino. These events included Scientific and Practical conference “FSFI “Wood Protection” – guarding the health of the forests for 75 years”.

Following people participated in the events: deputy minister and head of Federal Forestry Agency V.A. Lebedev, deputy heads, heads of Russian Agriculture Ministry and affiliate organizations.

FSFI “Saint-Petersburg Forestry Research Institute” was represented during the jubilee conference by its head I.A. Vasiliev. During a commemorative speech he noted that Russain Wood Protection has grown into a large national centre of pest and disease protection and fight. He noted that the jubilee has turned into an impressive display of achievements and a high mark for Russian Wood Protection Centre into national economy. I.A. Vasiliev stressed that FBE “SpbFRI” and “Russian Wood Protection”, both of whom work for the development and strengthening of Russian forest complex, have long-standing and strong collaborative ties.

For referece: FSFI “Russian Wood Protection” includes 42 regional centres of forest protection and several other stand-alone organizations. The bulk of national forests have been inspected during the history of the organization.
