International exposition “Russian Forest” is held in Vologda

From the 4th to 6th of December in Vologda, the International Exposition “Russian Forest” is held, that includes International Scientific and Technological conference “Actual Issues of Forest Complex Development”. The expo is held for the 18th time. This year, 22 regions of Russia and 20 foreign companies participate in the event. Delegations from Poland, Belarus and China have chosen to participate as guests from other countries.

The Forum was inaugurated by the Governor of Kostroma Region Oleg Alexandrovich Kuvshinchikov. The head of the region stressed that the main task for now is to create an integral wood industry cluster. Russian Forestry Agency was represented by deputy state of Russian Agriculture Ministry A.V. Panfilov.

During the plenary meeting that was held on the 4th of December, the participants of the event discussed basic trends of the development of Russia timber complex, national forest policy and the role that the legislation plays in its realization. As part of the business program of the forum the participants will discuss issues of innovative and investment-driven development of the real economy sector in forest industry complex, as well as problems and perspectives of staffing in forestry and timber processing.
